In the fall of 2008, my aged mother was declining mentally, and needed a mastectomy. It was my intention to clear out her house In Miami, put it on the market, and take her to California to live with me and my family. The prospect of dealing with doctors, hospitals, airlines, realtors, etc., not to mention the sheer magnitude of cleaning out a lifetime of furniture and aquisitions caused me great unease.  

It was at this juncture, when I had neither time nor resources to search for a Realtor, that I was referred by a trusted friend to Nancy Magner. Ms. Magner impressed me by being understanding about my situation as well as that of my mother. She was confident andcompetent. I liked her and trusted her from the start. It was not possible to put the house on the market until my mother fully recovered from her surgery, but Ms. Magner was not the least impatient. She took digital photos of the property and uploaded them to a website, and waited until I was ready to sell. She introduced me to people who helped me clean out the house, pack it up, and throw away the mountain of accumulated items that my mother would no longer need in California--items such as furniture, office equipment, books, records, etc. 

I had no qualms about leaving Ms. Magner to sell the vacant house when we returned to California. She was in touch with me almost daily by phone, email, and fax. To my very pleasant surprise, she is fluent in Spanish, and so was able to deal with a wide spectrum of potential buyers. In the end, she sold the house to a lovely couple, and got the full value on the property then allowed by the FHA. She handled all the paperwork, including some tricky moments with the escrow company when they fouled up as they were wont to do. 

Nancy Magner’s sales skills, negotiating techniques, and ability to shepherd the client through various legal difficulties are first-rate. I never once had the feeling that she was anything other than my friend and advocate, who was working tirelessly on mybehalf. She was clear-eyed and practical, giving realistic and much-needed advice, while being amiable and charming. After living in Miami, Florida for our entire lives we decided to sell our house and move to Kentucky to enjoy our retirement. We had lived in the same house for 30 years, so needless to say we had no “house selling” experience. In addition to our lack of experience and savvy, the real estate market was at an all time low.  We knew that all these factors combined would make selling our house a challenging experience. Considering the economic conditions in the real estate market at the time, we were very impressed with the number of prospective buyers that viewed the house and the fact that we sold the house in record time (about three months).  We were extremely pleased with Nancy’s competency. Her knowledge and professionalism were beyond compare; her insight in dealing with a down market was remarkable. But most importantly to us, the trust we placed in her proved to be well founded.

We felt that Nancy always had our best interest at heart and went the extra mile to soothe our anxieties throughout the selling process.  Nancy did a great job when we decided to sell our when we decided to sell our townhouse. She met with us and made some great suggestions on things that we could do to help with the sale and listed it at a price where we were able to make a great profit, but comparable with other properties in the area so that we were able to sign a contract on it within one week of listing it! She always looked out for our best interest in the negotiations and the closing was completed without a hitch. Nancy was recommended to me by a friend who had used her when selling his house and she was amazing in helping me in my situation. I purchased my condo at the height of the market and was upside down on my mortgage and facing foreclosure.
